For guests from the DACH region, Cairo International Airport (CAI) is the closest international airport, approximately 184 to 223 kilometers from Port Said. The local Port Said International Airport (PSD) is closer (approx. 6 km from the city center) but currently does not offer scheduled flights for international travelers from Europe. Direct flights to Cairo are available from major German, Austrian, and Swiss airports.
Transfer & Shuttle
The most convenient way to reach Port Said from Cairo Airport (CAI) is via private transfer services, which allow for a travel time of approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes to 3 hours. Alternatively, buses offer a more cost-effective option with a travel time of 2.5 to 4 hours. Many cruise lines also organize bundled transfers for their passengers, ensuring a relaxed onward journey to the ship.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
Due to the long journey from the DACH region and the transfer time from Cairo Airport to the port, an overnight stay in a pre-cruise hotel is recommended. Numerous hotels in Port Said offer a pleasant opportunity to acclimatize and explore the city before embarkation. Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that you will generally receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port accordingly and consider that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination area - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
