Plane
The nearest airport is Stavanger Airport (SVG), also known as Sola, located approximately 69 to 74 kilometers north of Egersund. The travel time by car is around 1 hour 7 minutes. For travel from the DACH region, a flight to Stavanger is recommended. From there, you can easily reach Egersund using a combination of bus and train, which takes about 1 hour 57 minutes to 1 hour 58 minutes. Bus lines such as the 42 (from the airport to Sandnes) operate with a subsequent train connection to Egersund. For a relaxed start to your cruise, arriving the day before and staying overnight in Stavanger or Egersund is advisable.
Train
Egersund station is well-connected to the Norwegian rail network and is located on the Sørlandsbanen. Regular regional trains connect Egersund with larger cities such as Stavanger, Kristiansand, and even Oslo S. From Egersund station, you can reach the city center and the harbor easily on foot or with a local bus (e.g., line 83) within a few minutes. Taxis are also available. The station also offers parking facilities for travelers.
Car
Arrival by car is possible via the E39 European route, which connects Egersund with Stavanger to the north and Kristiansand to the south. The Fylkesvei 44 coastal road also offers a scenic route along the North Sea coast. Although Egersund is a smaller port and no dedicated "Park & Cruise" providers exist as in large metropolises, parking options can be found in the city and at the train station for shorter stays. If you rent a vehicle at Stavanger Airport, you will reach Egersund after a pleasant drive along the coast.
