Honolulu is the radiant heart of Hawaii and welcomes travelers with a perfect blend of Polynesian charm and modern big-city flair. Cultural highlights in the direct vicinity include the historic Iolani Palace, the legendary Aloha Tower, and the atmospheric Capitol District. Cruise ships mostly dock at Pier 2 Cruise Terminal or at Pier 11 at the Aloha Tower Marketplace, making the city center easily accessible on foot or after a short drive. Thanks to its excellent location, visitors also quickly reach the world-famous Waikiki Beach to enjoy the paradisiacal island feeling.
The Port of Honolulu is centrally located on the south coast of Oahu and serves as a major hub for cruises through the Hawaiian Islands. The docking positions at Pier 2 and Pier 11 are in immediate proximity to the city center and the historic Aloha Tower, and are excellently integrated into the urban infrastructure.
Airplane
Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) is located only about eight kilometers west of the cruise terminals and is served by major DACH hubs such as Frankfurt, Munich, or Zurich, usually with one layover on the US West Coast. Thanks to the short distance, travelers reach the port after a driving time of approximately 15 to 20 minutes, enjoying their first views of the coastline along the way.
Transfer & Shuttle
From the airport, guests can easily reach the terminals directly via taxi or common app-based ride services. Additionally, the Nimitz Highway (Route 92) serves as the direct main artery from the airport to the port area, while specialized providers like Roberts Hawaii offer regular shuttle connections for cruise guests.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
Due to the time difference and the long flight duration from Europe, arriving at least two days before embarkation is highly recommended. Many hotels in the nearby Waikiki district offer special packages for cruisers, allowing guests to acclimate in a relaxed manner while exploring sights such as Pearl Harbor or Waikiki Beach before the start of the journey.
