Cruise port Hamilton

The port of Hamilton in Bermuda is easily accessible for cruise guests from the DACH region thanks to good local connections upon arrival on the island. Ships often dock directly at Front Street, placing you immediately in the lively heart of the capital. Given the long journey from Europe, an overnight stay before embarkation is recommended.

Airplane

For guests from German-speaking countries, travel to the port of Hamilton is primarily by plane with layovers in North America (e.g., New York, Boston, Toronto, or London). The nearest and only airport on the island is L.F. Wade International Airport (BDA), located approximately 12 to 16 kilometers northeast of Hamilton. Due to the time difference and long flight duration, it is advisable to arrive in Bermuda at least one day before your scheduled embarkation to start your cruise experience relaxed.

Transfer & Local Transport

From L.F. Wade International Airport (BDA), you can easily reach the port in Hamilton. A taxi ride takes about 25 to 30 minutes and costs approximately 35 to 50 US dollars. Alternatively, public buses (e.g., Line 11) run directly from the airport to the Central Bus Terminal in Hamilton, with the journey taking about 33 to 45 minutes and costing approximately 3 to 5 US dollars. In Hamilton itself, the port is very easy to reach on foot. In addition, Bermuda has an excellent public bus and ferry system, with its central hub located in Hamilton. Multi-day transport passes allow unlimited use of buses and ferries for your explorations on the island.

Pre-Cruise Hotel

For a stress-free arrival and to discover charming Hamilton before your cruise, an overnight stay in one of the hotels in the capital is recommended. Hotels such as the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club or the Rosedon Hotel are centrally located and provide an ideal base for exploring the city comfortably on foot. Many of these accommodations are just a few minutes' walk from the cruise terminal, allowing for a relaxed start to your vacation.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for the journey to the port accordingly and keep in mind that the latest embarkation time—depending on the cruise line and destination—is generally scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
