Picton is the picturesque gateway to New Zealand's South Island and is nestled in the breathtaking backdrop of the Marlborough Sounds. Picton is picturesquely situated on the Queen Charlotte Sound and serves as a central gateway to New Zealand's South Island for cruise ships as well as large island ferries. The berths at Waitohi Wharf are located in the immediate vicinity of the town center and are excellently integrated into the New Zealand transport network.
Airplane
Travel from the DACH region traditionally takes place via the international airports of Auckland (AKL) or Christchurch (CHC), followed by a domestic flight to Marlborough Airport (BHE) in Blenheim. From there, you can easily reach the port in about 25 minutes by taxi or shuttle service; however, due to the long distance, a hotel stay in Picton or Blenheim before embarkation is recommended.
Train
Picton railway station is located directly at the port area and marks the terminus of the famous Coastal Pacific Train, which connects the port city with Christchurch.
