Vigo is Galicia's proud gateway to the Atlantic and impresses as one of the most important port cities in northwestern Spain with its authentic maritime charm. Cruise ships dock at the centrally located Muelle de Trasatlánticos, from which guests can easily reach the charming alleys and the popular shopping street Calle del Príncipe in just a few minutes on foot.

Airplane
Vigo Airport (VGO) is located just 15 kilometers from the port and can be reached via regular bus connections on line L9A or by taxi in about 20 minutes. For travelers from the DACH region, the airports of Santiago de Compostela (SCQ) and Porto (OPO) in Portugal also offer excellent alternatives, with Porto providing a particularly flexible connection thanks to direct bus shuttles from well-known providers such as FlixBus or Autna and a journey time of around 90 minutes.
Train
With its two train stations, Vigo-Urzáiz and Vigo-Guixar, the city has excellent rail connections, with Urzáiz serving as a modern hub for high-speed trains from Madrid. Both stations are located only one to two kilometers from the port, so you can easily reach the cruise terminal by taxi or after a short walk through the lively city center, while simultaneously gathering first impressions of Galician architecture.
Car & Parking
Via the AP-9 highways from the north and south, as well as the A-52 from the east, you can reach the port area directly and find a first-class infrastructure there. Secure parking facilities such as the parking garage at the A Laxe shopping center or the Parking Estación Marítima are available in the immediate vicinity of the Muelle de Trasatlánticos terminal, which, thanks to video surveillance and comfortable parking spaces, are ideal for the duration of your cruise.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that your travel documents usually include a fixed time slot for check-in, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port and take into account that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination area - is generally scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
The same applies during the journey: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements and notices on board, as docking and departure times can change at short notice.
