Santa Cruz de La Palma is the charming capital of the "Isla Bonita" and captivates with its authentic Canarian atmosphere and a rich maritime history. The city nestles picturesquely against the green mountain slopes and enchants visitors with cobblestone streets as well as the iconic, flower-adorned wooden balconies on the Avenida Marítima. Cultural highlights in the immediate vicinity include the magnificent Plaza de España and the Museo Naval, which is housed in a fascinating replica of Columbus's caravel. Cruise ships dock at the central Muelle de la Ribera at the Estación Marítima, from where the historic center and the busy shopping street Calle O’Daly can be easily reached in just a few minutes' walk thanks to the excellent location.

The cruise port of Santa Cruz de La Palma impresses with its immediate proximity to the historic city center and is extremely easy to reach thanks to the clear structure of the Estación Marítima terminal. The journey is very straightforward for guests from the DACH region thanks to the short distances on the island and the well-developed infrastructure.

Airplane

The island's La Palma Airport (SPC) is located just eight kilometers south of the port and is regularly served by direct flights from major German airports such as Frankfurt, Munich, or Düsseldorf. In addition, there are frequent connecting flights via Madrid or the neighboring islands, so you can reach the terminal in a short travel time after landing.

Transfer & Taxi

From the airport, you can reach the ship directly by taxi in about 10 to 15 minutes, with the drive along the LP-2 coastal road offering a first beautiful view. Alternatively, bus line 500 runs every half hour between the airport and the capital Santa Cruz, from where the cruise terminal is easily accessible on foot.

Auto

Should you explore the island in advance with a rental car, the route via the well-developed main roads LP-1 from the north or LP-2 from the south leads directly to the port area. Public parking is available at the terminal, and many local car rental companies also offer the convenient return of the vehicle directly at the port.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan accordingly sufficient time for the journey to the port and take into account that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The following also applies during the journey: For shore excursions, you should be back on board no later than one hour before departure. Always observe the current announcements and notices on board, as berthing and departure times can change at short notice.
