The Port of Koper impresses with its excellent location directly on the edge of the historic Old Town, allowing guests a comfortable embarkation with short walking distances. Thanks to the compact structure of the modern passenger terminal, you can reach the pier and the city's maritime sights directly on foot.

Car

Arrival from the DACH region is ideally via the Slovenian A1 motorway, which connects Koper directly with Ljubljana as well as the border crossings to Austria (A9 via Spielfeld or A11 via the Karawankentunnel). Monitored long-term parking spaces are available directly at the port as well as in the nearby Belveder parking garage and at the Sonce P+R lot; additionally, specialized Park & Cruise service providers offer convenient parking spaces including a short transfer to the ship.

Airplane

Three relevant destination airports are available for arrival by plane: Trieste Airport (TRS) is the closest at around 40 kilometers and can be reached in about 45 minutes. Alternatively, Ljubljana Airport (LJU) at about 100 kilometers and Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) at around 170 kilometers are used, with professional shuttle services such as GoOpti or Nomago ensuring a direct and reliable connection to the terminal.

Train

Koper railway station (Železniška postaja Koper) is connected to the national rail network and regularly receives trains from Ljubljana, which in turn offer connections to Villach and Munich. The terminal is located about 1.5 kilometers from the station and can be easily reached in a few minutes by taxi or during a 20-minute walk along the promenade; due to the charming atmosphere of Koper, an arrival the day before with an overnight stay in the Old Town is recommended.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port accordingly and take into account that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination area - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The following also applies during the voyage: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always observe the current announcements as well as the notices on board, as docking and departure times can change at short notice.
