Port information & tips for Casablanca
Casablanca is the vibrant metropolis of Morocco and impressively combines modern architecture with the magic of One Thousand and One Nights. The port city on the Atlantic captivates with its cosmopolitan flair and, thanks to its location, offers an ideal starting point for cultural discoveries between tradition and progress. Absolute highlights include the monumental Hassan II Mosque with its imposing minaret, the charming old town, and the famous Rick’s Café. Cruise ships dock at the modern Terminal de Croisières at the Quai de Croisière. From this central berthing point, travelers can reach the city center and the most important sights comfortably within a few minutes' drive and also benefit from a first-class connection to the fascinating culture of the Orient.
Casablanca is the maritime gateway to Morocco and welcomes cruise guests in a modern terminal directly in the heart of the economic metropolis. The port is centrally located and, thanks to excellent connections to the international airport and the well-developed rail network, is easily accessible for travelers from the DACH region.
Airplane
Mohammed V International Airport (CMN) is the country's most important hub and is located approximately 30 kilometers south of the port. It is served by direct flights from Frankfurt, Munich, Geneva, and Zurich, with a travel time to the cruise terminal of approximately 45 to 60 minutes, depending on traffic. For the transfer, licensed Grands Taxis are available at the airport at fixed prices, as well as private shuttle services that take you directly to the port entrance.
Train
The Casa Port station is located in the immediate vicinity of the port entrance and is an ideal arrival point for travelers arriving from other parts of the country or by airport train. From the station, you can reach the cruise terminal comfortably in a few minutes by taxi. Additionally, Casablanca is connected to the modern high-speed Al Boraq network via the Casa Voyageurs long-distance station, which enables fast connections from cities such as Tangier.
Transfer & Pre-Cruise Hotel
Due to the international flight connections and the cultural diversity of Casablanca, arriving a day in advance with an overnight stay in a hotel in the city center or near the Hassan II Mosque is recommended. Many hotels organize private transfers to the port for their guests; additionally, cruise lines often offer coordinated shuttle buses from the airport or central meeting points on the day of embarkation. These ensure a relaxed start to the cruise and take the direct route to the terminal building.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that your travel documents usually include a fixed time slot for check-in, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port and take into account that the latest embarkation time—depending on the cruise line and destination—is generally scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
The same applies during the journey: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always follow the current announcements and notices on board, as berthing and departure times can change at short notice.
