Port information & tips for Mitilini (Lesbos)
Mytilene is the picturesque capital of the island of Lesbos and welcomes travelers with a fascinating blend of ancient history and authentic Greek island flair. The port is located directly on the bustling waterfront promenade and offers an impressive backdrop thanks to magnificent neoclassical villas, traditional ouzeris, and the turquoise Aegean Sea. Architectural highlights such as the imposing Fortress of Mytilene, the majestic domed church of Agios Therapon, and the Archaeological Museum are located in the immediate vicinity. Cruise ships dock at the central berth of the Port of Mytilene, from where the charming city center, the main shopping street Ermou, and cultural sights are easily accessible on foot within a few minutes.

Airplane
The nearest airport is Mytilene International Airport "Odysseas Elytis" (MJT), which is located only about 8 kilometers from the port. From the DACH region, there are frequent direct flights during the summer season or convenient connections with a transfer, usually in Athens (ATH) or Thessaloniki (SKG). Given the international travel, an overnight stay in advance is recommended to start the cruise relaxed.
Transfer & Shuttle
From MJT airport, you can reach the port of Mitilini comfortably and quickly. A taxi ride to the city center takes only about 15 minutes and costs approximately 10-14 euros during the day. Public buses are also available, with the stop located directly in front of the departure terminal. In addition, various private transfer services and cruise lines offer shuttle services that take you directly to your ship.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
An overnight stay in Mitilini before embarkation is advisable to make the arrival stress-free and to explore the charming port city in advance. Numerous hotels are located in the immediate vicinity of the port and city center. The Theofilos Paradise, for example, is only 300 meters from the port. Many hotels also offer good connections to the airport, allowing for comfortable planning. For travelers by car, there are sufficient parking facilities in the southern area of the Mytilini Marina.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port accordingly and take into account that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually about one hour before the scheduled departure.
