Port information & tips for Pucisca (Brac Island)

Pučišća is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Europe and is the radiant jewel of the Croatian island of Brač. The port lies deep within a protected bay and impresses with its striking architecture of bright limestone, which lends the place a noble and timeless atmosphere. Cultural highlights include the renowned Klesarska škola masonry school, the baroque parish church of Sveti Jeronim, and the historic defensive towers that characterize the townscape. Cruise ships dock directly at the Riva at the Obala sv. Jerolima quay, so that the picturesque alleys and cozy cafés of the center are easily accessible on foot in just a few steps thanks to the central location.

Pucisca on the island of Brac welcomes you in a picturesque bay on the north coast and is known for its impressive stone masonry tradition. As a port for smaller cruise ships and yachts, the arrival is always a charming adventure that leads via the Croatian mainland and by ferry.

Plane & Onward Journey by Ferry

The most convenient flight connection for guests from the DACH region leads to Split Airport (SPU), which is considered the most important hub in Dalmatia. From there, you can reach the Split ferry port directly thanks to regular shuttle buses (travel time approx. 30 minutes, approx. 8 €). Alternatively, taxis (approx. 30 €) or ride services such as Uber and Bolt (approx. 25-40 €) are available for a swift transfer. Numerous connections to the island of Brac exist from Split ferry port: the car ferry to Supetar, the island's main town, takes about 50 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes. From Supetar, you can reach Pucisca comfortably via well-developed roads by taxi or local bus; the journey takes about 40 to 60 minutes for the approximately 43 kilometers. Another option is the small Brac Airport (BWK) near Bol, which offers seasonal direct flights from selected European cities such as Luxembourg, Bolzano, or Bratislava. From there, Pucisca is only about 19 kilometers away and can be reached in about 30 to 40 minutes by taxi or private transfer.

Car & Ferry

Arriving with your own vehicle is comfortably possible thanks to the well-developed Croatian motorways, such as the A1, and leads you directly to the ferry ports of Split or Makarska. From the Split ferry port, you continue your journey with the car ferry to Supetar on Brac. For guests arriving from more southern regions of Croatia, the ferry connection from Makarska to Sumartin on Brac is an option. Once you have arrived at either ferry port on Brac, you can reach Pucisca via the local road networks. Parking options at the Split ferry port are available, for example at the car park directly at the train station, just a few minutes' walk from the terminal, with daily rates starting from approx. 25 to 35 €. Short-term parking spaces for loading and unloading are located directly at the ferry piers.

Recommendation: Arrival the Day Before & Pre-Cruise Hotel

Due to the combined arrival by plane and ferry, which involves several transfer steps, we recommend arriving in Split one day before the scheduled embarkation. This allows for a relaxed start to your cruise holiday, as you can manage the transfer routes without time pressure and buffer any delays. Split offers a diverse selection of hotels in direct proximity to the ferry port and the old town, which provides you with an initial insight into the charming Dalmatian culture and significantly facilitates the onward journey the next day.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for the journey to the port accordingly and take into account that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is generally scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The same applies during the trip: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements as well as the notices on board, as berthing and departure times can change at short notice.
