Returning to the ship
Binz on Rügen is a charming starting point for cruise experiences and boat excursions in the Baltic Sea. The famous pier serves as a central mooring point for numerous ships and is easily accessible from the DACH region thanks to excellent connections.
Car
Getting to Binz is very convenient thanks to the A20 Baltic Sea motorway. Drive to the Stralsund exit, then take the motorway feeder road and the toll-free Rügen Bridge or the Rügen Causeway onto the island of Rügen. On Rügen, the B96 leads you to Bergen, from where you follow the B196 directly to Binz. Various paid parking options are available in the town, including multi-storey car parks and public car parks in Goethestraße, Lottumstraße, and Zeppelinstraße, as well as underground garages for your vehicle.
Train
Binz has its own very centrally located railway station, which is served by numerous IC and ICE connections from all over Germany. For example, you can reach Binz comfortably and in an environmentally friendly way via a direct connection from Dresden or, in summer, even with an ICE from Munich. From the station, you can reach the pier and the surrounding hotels in just a few minutes on foot. If required, taxis are available at the station for a short transfer.
Airplane
The nearest public airport is Rostock-Laage (RLG), approximately 140 kilometres from Binz. From there, you can use the Rügen holiday shuttle bus, which takes you directly to Binz and can be booked up to three days before departure. Another option is Heringsdorf Airport (HDF) on Usedom, which is about 70 kilometres away. For a relaxed start to your cruise, especially for longer journeys, we recommend staying overnight in one of the charming hotels in Binz on the day before embarkation.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port and bear in mind that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually about one hour before the scheduled departure.
The following also applies during the voyage: for shore excursions, you should be back on board no later than one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the latest announcements and the notices on board, as mooring and departure times can change at short notice.
