Charlotteville is a hidden gem in the northeast of Tobago, captivating visitors with its untouched nature and authentic charm as an idyllic fishing village. Located in the horseshoe-shaped Man-o-War Bay, the village offers a relaxed atmosphere amidst lush rainforests and crystal-clear waters. Highlights include the picturesque Pirate’s Bay, known for its seclusion, while the Flagstaff Hill viewpoint provides spectacular panoramic views of the coast. As Charlotteville is an exclusive destination for smaller ships, these usually anchor in the bay, and guests reach the central Charlotteville Jetty comfortably by tender boat. From this landing point, the charming village center, local markets, and hiking trails are in the immediate vicinity and can be easily explored on foot.
Charlotteville is an idyllic fishing village at the northeastern tip of Tobago and serves as a picturesque port of call for smaller cruise ships. For guests from the DACH region, arrival is primarily by plane to the nearby A.N.R. Robinson International Airport on Tobago, followed by a comfortable transfer to the village. Please note that Charlotteville is not a departure port for cruises, but a destination port where passengers go ashore by tender boat at a public fishing pier.

The nearest airport is A.N.R. Robinson International Airport (TAB) in Crown Point, Tobago. From here, the road distance to Charlotteville is approximately 55 to 64 kilometers, with a driving time of around 1 hour and 5 minutes. Since long-haul flights from the DACH region require stopovers, arriving a day before embarkation is recommended due to the travel time.
Transfer & Shuttle
From A.N.R. Robinson International Airport (TAB), you can easily reach Charlotteville by taxi or a pre-booked private transfer. The taxi ride takes about 1 hour and 5 minutes. A cheaper but significantly longer alternative is public buses, which require a transfer in Scarborough and extend the total travel time to about 3 hours and 15 minutes.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
Due to the long journey from the DACH region, we recommend staying overnight in a pre-cruise hotel on Tobago to start your cruise experience relaxed. Numerous accommodations with good connections can be found near the airport in Crown Point or in the larger town of Scarborough, before taking the scenic but winding Windward Road to Charlotteville. Charlotteville itself primarily offers smaller guesthouses.
Check-in & Embarkation
