Cruise port La Romana

Port information & tips for La Romana

La Romana is a glamorous gateway to the Dominican Republic and captivates with an exclusive blend of tropical nature and a luxurious lifestyle. The region at the southeastern tip of the island enchants with palm-fringed coasts, first-class golf courses, and an elegant flair that appeals to relaxation seekers and explorers alike. Cultural highlights include the charming artist village of Altos de Chavón, built in the style of a 16th-century Mediterranean village, as well as the expansive luxury resort Casa de Campo with its exclusive marina. Cruise ships dock at the modern terminal Muelle Turística Casa de Campo, which, thanks to its location on the Rio Dulce, forms an ideal starting point and is only about three kilometers from the city center and the first-class beaches of the surrounding area.

The port of La Romana is an ideal starting point for Caribbean cruises, thanks to its modern terminal structure at Muelle Turístico Casa de Campo and excellent connections to several international airports. Guests from the DACH region benefit from a well-developed infrastructure that enables a relaxed journey directly to the ship.

Airplane

La Romana International Airport (LRM) is located only about 10 minutes away from the terminal and is frequently served by full charter flights from cruise lines directly from Germany. For scheduled connections from Frankfurt, Munich, or Zurich, Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) is also an option, located around 75 kilometers away, while Santo Domingo Airport (SDQ), approximately 100 kilometers away, represents another comfortable option for arrival.

Transfer & Shuttle

Thanks to the modern Autopista del Coral highway, travelers can reach the port directly from Punta Cana Airport in approximately 50 to 60 minutes. Cruise lines usually offer organized shuttle buses for their guests; additionally, licensed taxis and private transfer services are available at the airports, guaranteeing a comfortable ride to Muelle Turístico Casa de Campo.

Pre-Cruise Hotel

Due to the flight duration and time difference, we recommend arriving at least one day before embarkation to start your vacation relaxed. In the immediate vicinity of the port, as well as in the nearby Casa de Campo resort or the charming fishing village of Bayahibe, you will find first-class hotel options that often organize private transfers to the cruise terminal, enabling a seamless transition to your cruise.
