Airplane
The nearest airport is Cork Airport (ORK), located only around 24 minutes by car from Ringaskiddy, offering convenient connections. From there, Bus Éireann takes you to Ringaskiddy hourly in about 38 minutes, with ticket prices between 5 and 8 euros. For a seamless transition, private taxi transfers from the airport directly to the port can also be booked in advance. For travelers from the DACH region on long-haul flights, we recommend arriving the day before and staying overnight in one of the charming hotels in Cork City for a relaxed start to your cruise.
Car
The port of Ringaskiddy is well integrated into the Irish road network and is easily accessible via the N40 (Cork South Ring Road) motorway. From Cork City, take the N27 south, join the N40 heading east, and then follow the N28, which leads you directly to the port. The journey time from Cork City is approximately 30 to 40 minutes. Please note that long-term parking is not available directly at the terminal; short-term parking is only for picking up and dropping off passengers. For longer parking durations, ideally use the paid parking facilities at Cork Airport.
Transfer & Shuttle
As Ringaskiddy is an industrial port without extensive tourist infrastructure, organized transfer options are particularly important. Many cruise lines offer shuttle buses directly from Ringaskiddy to Cork City or nearby Cobh, enabling a comfortable onward journey. Alternatively, the Bus Éireann line 223 connects the village of Ringaskiddy (about a 10-15 minute walk from the terminal) with Cork City in around 46 minutes. Taxis are also available and can be used for direct trips to the ship or to hotels in Cork City.
