Cruise port St. Helier (Jersey)

St. Helier on Jersey is a popular destination for cruise ships and is easily accessible from the DACH region by plane or ferry. The island's capital offers a central landing point for tender boats at Albert Pier, as well as the Elizabeth Terminal for ferry passengers and smaller ships.

Airplane

Jersey Airport (JER) is located only about 7 to 8 kilometers from St. Helier city center. Direct flight connections from Germany are available during the busier months. After landing, you can easily reach the port and city center by taxi in about 15 to 20 minutes for approximately 20 to 25 euros. Alternatively, the LibertyBus route 15 runs directly from the airport to the center of St. Helier in about 25 to 35 minutes for approximately 2.70 to 3 euros, with route 15 being ideal for travelers with luggage.

Ferry

Travelers wishing to reach Jersey by sea use the Elizabeth Terminal in St. Helier. Ferry connections exist from various ports in Great Britain (Poole, Portsmouth) and France (St. Malo). For example, DFDS offers fast crossings from St. Malo in about 1 hour 25 minutes or from Poole in around 4 hours. Taking a vehicle on the ferries is possible. From the Elizabeth Terminal, you can reach the central bus stop on foot in about five minutes or take a taxi directly to the cruise terminal at Albert Pier, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the city center. Short-term parking for up to five days is available at the Elizabeth Terminal and can be used via a pay-by-phone app.

Transfers and Pre-Cruise Hotel

As St. Helier serves as a port of call for most cruises, ships will often anchor in St. Aubin's Bay and bring guests to Albert Pier by tender boat. This landing point features a transit terminal with amenities and is just a pleasant ten-minute walk from St. Helier city center. For a relaxed arrival, especially after longer flights or ferry trips, an overnight stay in one of the centrally located hotels in St. Helier is recommended. Many hotels, such as the Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel, are ideally situated by the water, just a few minutes from the ferry terminal, and offer comfortable accommodation options before visiting the island.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that you will generally receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port accordingly and take into account that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The same applies during the voyage: for shore excursions, you should be back on board no later than one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements and notices on board, as mooring and departure times may change at short notice.
