It is best to visit this stretch of coast in the morning to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere before the warmer midday hours, and plan your return trip to the port about ninety minutes before departure to return to the ship on time and stress-free.
The return journey to the cruise terminal in Constanza is very straightforward and safe, thanks to its proximity to the historic Old Town. Plan for a small time buffer for the way through the port area to get back on board in a relaxed manner.
Taxi
Taxi stands can be found directly at Piata Ovidiu in the Old Town, as well as in front of the large hotels in Mamaia and at the main railway station. Thanks to official marking and fair rates, you can reach the guarded port gate comfortably and directly from the beach or city center, where drivers are usually allowed to take you right up to the passenger terminal.
Shuttle & Public Transport
Many cruise lines offer shuttle buses that commute between the passenger terminal and central points such as Ovidiu Square and bring you back reliably. In addition, local bus lines 402 and 100M run at regular intervals from Mamaia and the city center towards the port, so you can easily reach the port entrance at any time.
On Foot
From the famous Casino or Ovidiu Square, you can stroll down the wide staircases to the harbor basin and follow the marked path to the terminal. Access to the port grounds is protected by security personnel and, thanks to the clear signage and the good visibility of your ship, you will find the way to the pier safely and directly.
