For international guests, Henri Coandă International Airport (OTP) in Bucharest is the primary point of entry, from where organized transfers or rental cars reach Cernavoda. Alternatively, Constanța Mihail Kogălniceanu Airport (CND) is much closer, only about 48 kilometers away, which corresponds to a driving time of around 38 minutes. Numerous transfer services offer comfortable rides from both airports to Cernavoda. Due to the journey from the DACH region and transfer times, we recommend arriving at least one day before embarkation to start your cruise in a relaxed manner.

Car

Cernavoda is excellently connected to the Romanian motorway network and is directly accessible via the Autostrada A2, also known as the "Sun Motorway". This important long-distance road connects the capital Bucharest with Constanța and passes directly by Cernavoda. A vignette (Rovinietă) is required for the use of the motorways. Since Cernavoda is a smaller river cruise port, parking facilities are often organized locally or stops are made directly at the berth; specific "Park & Cruise" providers like those at large seaports are less common here.

Rail

Cernavoda has its own railway station, Cernavoda Pod, which is part of the Romanian railway network. From there, train connections exist, for example to Bucharest, with the journey taking about one and a half hours. Short taxi rides or local transfer options are usually available from the station to the cruise terminal, as it is a manageable city.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port accordingly and take into account that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

During the trip, the following also applies: For shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the latest announcements and the notices on board, as mooring and departure times can change at short notice.
