Wrocław, located on the Oder, is a charming destination for river cruises and is easily accessible from the DACH region thanks to its good transport links. The moorings for river cruises are often centrally located in the city, for example near the Market Square or Sand Island.

Car

Wrocław is excellently connected to the road network via the A4 and A8 motorways as well as the S3, S5, and S8 expressways, allowing for a comfortable journey. Although parking in the city center can be scarce and expensive, it is recommended to pre-book a private underground parking space. Such parking facilities, for example at Altstadtboulevard (Wszystkich Świętych 23) within short walking distance of the Market Square, offer secure long-term parking from approximately 48 to 60 PLN per day. Hotels in the city center also often offer their own parking spaces.

Train

Wrocław Główny main station is a major railway hub in Poland and connects Wrocław with numerous national and international cities. From the main station, you can easily reach the river cruise moorings in the city center thanks to short distances. A taxi ride takes about 5 minutes; alternatively, you can reach the central Old Town by public buses and trams or with a relaxed walk in about 20 minutes.

Airplane

Wrocław Nicolaus Copernicus Airport (WRO) is located about 10 to 13 kilometers west of the city center and features a modern terminal. A taxi ride to the city center takes approximately 17 to 20 minutes and costs between 45 and 60 PLN. Additionally, bus line 106 runs every 20 minutes from the airport to "pl. Orląt Lwowskich" near the main station, with a travel time of around 31 to 32 minutes. Especially for arrivals from the DACH region with longer flights, an overnight stay in one of the centrally located hotels in Wrocław on the day before embarkation is recommended to start your river cruise relaxed.

Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is mandatory for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for the journey to the port accordingly and take into account that the latest embarkation time - depending on the shipping company and destination area - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The well-developed transport network of MPK Wroclaw efficiently connects the port area with all parts of the city thanks to numerous lines. Tickets can be purchased conveniently and cashless directly on the modern trams and buses.

Taxi and Melex Carts

Taxis are available at the main traffic hubs and near the bridges, allowing for a quick journey to your destination. In addition, local electric carts, known as Melex, offer a comfortable way for guided tours through the city's winding alleys.

Ostrów Tumski (Cathedral Island)

The historic Cathedral Island, Ostrów Tumski, is easily accessible on foot or by taxi in just a few minutes from the central moorings on the banks of the Oder and forms the cultural heart of Wroclaw as the city's oldest part. Thanks to the magnificent Cathedral of St. John the Baptist and the well-preserved cobblestone streets, you will experience a journey into the past here, perfectly complemented by charming cafes and well-kept green spaces. The special atmosphere is also highlighted by the traditional gas lanterns, which give the district an almost magical glow. Ideally, visit the island in the morning to enjoy the tranquility of the sacred buildings and the wide panoramic view from the church tower to the fullest, and plan a relaxed return path to the ship about one hour before departure.

Returning to the ship

The return journey to the berths on the Oder is very relaxed and safe, thanks to the central location of the piers and the excellent infrastructure.

You can find taxi stands at central locations such as the Market Square (Rynek) or directly in front of major hotels like the Radisson Blu at Park Słowackiego. Additionally, you can conveniently use apps like Uber or Bolt to be driven directly to Bulwar Dunikowskiego or Przystań Piaskowa.

Tram and Public Transport

The dense tram network reliably brings you back from all parts of the city to the vicinity of the riverfront promenades. The Hala Targowa or Plac Nowy Targ stops are just a few minutes' walk from the main piers and offer a quick connection directly to the water.

On Foot

Since most river cruise ships dock in the historic center or at Bulwar Dunikowskiego, you can simply stroll back to the ship through the picturesque alleys of the Old Town. The path is easy to find thanks to the prominent towers of Cathedral Island and the Oder bridges, and it leads through lively and well-lit areas.
