Cruise ships dock at the centrally located Riga Passenger Terminal, which is situated in the immediate vicinity of the historic center. Thanks to the first-class location, guests reach the most important sights comfortably within a short, approximately ten-minute walk along the picturesque banks of the Daugava.
The cruise port of Riga is located directly on the banks of the Daugava and, thanks to its central location on the edge of the historic Old Town, offers an ideal starting point for voyages through the Baltics. Most ships dock at the Riga Passenger Terminal, which is easily accessible by plane, car, or ferry.
Airplane
Riga International Airport (RIX) is served by direct flights from many cities in the DACH region and is located only ten kilometers from the terminal. The journey to the port takes about 15 to 20 minutes by taxi or private transfer; additionally, bus line 22 regularly connects the airport with the city center and the nearby main railway station.
Car & Parking
Riga is well-connected to the international road network and accessible from Central Europe via the European highways E67 (Via Baltica) and E77. Monitored parking facilities from providers such as EuroPark are available directly at the passenger terminal and in the immediate vicinity, providing a secure place to park for the duration of the cruise.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
Due to the charming architecture and often early embarkation times, arriving a day early with an overnight stay in one of the numerous hotels in the Old Town is recommended. This allows for a relaxed start to the vacation and gives guests the opportunity to explore the Latvian capital with its impressive Art Nouveau buildings in peace beforehand.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that you will generally receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is mandatory for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port accordingly and keep in mind that the latest embarkation time—depending on the cruise line and destination—is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
The same applies during the voyage: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements and notices on board, as docking and departure times can change at short notice.
