Port information & tips for Brisbane
Brisbane, the sun-drenched capital of Queensland, welcomes cruise passengers as a vibrant gateway to the subtropical east of Australia. The metropolis impresses with a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere and harmoniously combines modern architecture with lush parklands along the glittering Brisbane River. Large cruise ships dock at the state-of-the-art Brisbane International Cruise Terminal at Luggage Point. From this terminal, located approximately 22 kilometers from the center, guests can reach the pulsating heart of the city and the iconic Story Bridge in around 30 minutes thanks to comfortable shuttle services or taxis.
The modern Brisbane International Cruise Terminal (BICT) is located at Luggage Point in Pinkenba and serves as a premier starting point for journeys to the South Pacific and along the Australian East Coast. Thanks to its close proximity to the international airport and direct connection to the Gateway Motorway, the terminal is efficiently accessible for guests from Europe.
Airplane
Brisbane Airport (BNE) is the primary hub for travelers from the DACH region and is located just 12 to 15 kilometers from the port. Since flight connections from Frankfurt, Munich, or Zurich usually lead through Singapore, Dubai, or Doha, arriving at least two days before embarkation is ideal to compensate for the time difference and to explore Queensland's metropolis beforehand.
Transfer & Shuttle
From the airport or the city center, you can easily reach the terminal building at Luggage Point in about 15 to 20 minutes by taxi or rideshare service. In addition, most cruise lines provide organized transfer buses on the day of embarkation, ensuring a seamless transition from the airport arrival terminals to the luggage drop-off at the pier.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
An overnight stay in the nearby district of Hamilton or in the vibrant center of Brisbane ensures a relaxed start to your vacation. Many hotels in Hamilton are located directly on the Brisbane River and offer cruise guests the perfect setting before departure thanks to short distances to the terminal as well as a wide selection of restaurants and cafes at Portside Wharf.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that you will generally receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port accordingly and keep in mind that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination area - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
The following also applies during the voyage: For shore excursions, you should be back on board no later than one hour before departure. Always observe the current announcements and notices on board, as docking and departure times can change at short notice.
