Long Khanh A Island is an idyllic jewel in the Vietnamese Mekong Delta, offering travelers an authentic glimpse into the rural heart of Southeast Asia. Long Khanh A Island is a charming destination for river cruises in Vietnam's Mekong Delta and is typically explored as part of multi-day tours that usually begin or end in Ho Chi Minh City. It is therefore not a traditional seaport with direct arrival, but part of a fascinating river journey.
Airplane
Arrival from the DACH region is primarily via Ho Chi Minh City International Airport (SGN), which can be reached from Frankfurt (FRA) or Munich (MUC) with one or two stopovers. Alternatively, connections are available via other European hubs or Asian hubs. For a relaxed start to your Mekong adventure, we recommend arriving at least one day before the start of the cruise.

Most river cruise lines organize a comfortable transfer by air-conditioned coach from Ho Chi Minh City airport or a central city hotel to the embarkation point in My Tho, which takes about 1.5 to 2 hours of driving time. A pre-cruise hotel in Ho Chi Minh City is recommended to get used to the climate and explore the pulsating metropolis before the start of the river journey.
Arrival by River Cruise Ship
Long Khanh A Island itself is not a starting point, but one of the charming stops on your river cruise through the Mekong Delta. As part of Dong Thap Province, the island is accessible via the Mekong from your river cruise ship. The ships dock directly at the island, from where you can discover local culture and craftsmanship, such as cotton weaving and the production of conical hats.
Check-in & Embarkation
