The port of Chan May in central Vietnam is considered the most important gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Hue and Da Nang, and captivates visitors with its location on the deep blue South China Sea. For international guests, arrival usually takes place via the region's modern airports and the well-developed coastal road, thanks to its strategic position between the two major cities.
Airplane
Da Nang International Airport (DAD) is located around 60 kilometers to the south and is the most important hub for travelers from the DACH region, while Phu Bai Airport (HUI) near Hue offers an ideal alternative about 45 kilometers away. Both airports are served via major hubs such as Singapore, Bangkok, or Ho Chi Minh City and, thanks to modern infrastructure, allow for a pleasant onward journey to the terminal.
Transfer & Shuttle
As the port is a sprawling area with limited public transportation, the most convenient way to reach your ship is via pre-booked private transfers or the organized shuttle services provided by the cruise lines. The drive via the QL1A national road takes about 60 to 90 minutes depending on the starting point, during which you can also enjoy the picturesque views of the Lang Co lagoon and the forested mountains.
