Busan is South Korea's pulsating seaside metropolis, impressing as a fascinating blend of state-of-the-art architecture and deeply rooted tradition. Cruise ships dock at the modern Busan Port International Passenger Terminal, which is excellently connected to Busan Station via a direct pedestrian bridge. From there, the city center and the surrounding area can be reached comfortably and easily within a few minutes.
Busan is the most important cruise port in South Korea and impresses with its ultra-modern Busan Port International Passenger Terminal, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the city center. Thanks to the excellent infrastructure and direct connection to long-distance transport, accessibility for international guests is comfortably designed.
Airplane
Gimhae International Airport (PUS) is located about 15 kilometers west of the port and serves as the most important gateway to the region. From the DACH region, travel usually takes place via the hubs of Seoul-Incheon (ICN), Tokyo, or Hong Kong, from where connecting flights lead directly to Busan. From the airport, you can reach the terminal comfortably in about 30 to 45 minutes by taxi or use the efficient connection via the Busan-Gimhae Light Rail Transit in combination with the Metro.
Train
The main station Busan Station is the central arrival point for travelers arriving by KTX high-speed train from Seoul. The journey from the capital takes only about two and a half hours and offers a high level of travel comfort thanks to the modern trains. The location of the station is particularly practical, as a modern pedestrian bridge (Skywalk) connects Busan Station directly with the International Cruise Terminal, enabling a effortless transition to the ship.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
Due to the long flight time from Europe and the time difference, arriving at least one day before embarkation is highly recommended. A stay in one of the hotels in the modern district of Seomyeon or directly at the famous Haeundae Beach offers the perfect opportunity to get to know Korean hospitality. Many hotels are also happy to support their guests in organizing transfers to the port, ensuring a relaxed start to the cruise.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that you will generally receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for the journey to the port accordingly and take into account that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
The same applies during the journey: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always observe the current announcements and notices on board, as berthing and departure times can change at short notice.
