Tokyo is the pulsating heart of Japan, fascinatingly blending futuristic modernity with deep-rooted traditions. In the immediate vicinity of the harbor, highlights such as the artificial island of Odaiba with its famous Statue of Liberty, the futuristic exhibitions of the Miraikan Museum, and the panoramic views from the Rainbow Bridge delight visitors. Cruise ships dock at the state-of-the-art Tokyo International Cruise Terminal in the Aomi district, which, thanks to its excellent location, serves as an ideal starting point. From this architectural masterpiece, guests can reach the city center and the luxurious Ginza district comfortably in about twenty minutes, while the connection to the efficient rail network simultaneously enables effortless exploration of the entire megacity.
Tokyo welcomes cruise guests at the modern Tokyo International Cruise Terminal in the Odaiba district as well as at the Harumi Terminal, both of which are excellently integrated into the metropolis's infrastructure. Accessibility is particularly comfortable for travelers from the DACH region thanks to the proximity to international airports and efficient rail connections.
Airplane
The centrally located Haneda Airport (HND) is situated only about 10 kilometers from the Tokyo International Cruise Terminal and allows for a very short transfer time of about 20 minutes by taxi or Airport Limousine Bus. Guests landing at Narita Airport (NRT) reach the port comfortably in about 60 to 90 minutes via the Narita Express to Tokyo Station or through direct shuttle services provided by the cruise lines.
Rail
Arrival by train is best handled via the major hubs of Tokyo Station or Shinagawa, from where the driverless Yurikamome elevated train runs directly to the Tokyo International Cruise Terminal stop. Alternatively, travelers can use the Rinkai Line to Tokyo Teleport Station, from where many cruise lines also offer free shuttle buses to the ship during embarkation times.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
Due to the long flight duration from Europe and the time difference, arriving at least one day before embarkation and booking a hotel in the Odaiba district or near Shinagawa Station is recommended. Many first-class hotels near the port provide an excellent starting point for initial explorations and also offer convenient connections directly to the terminal.
