Port information & tips for Surabaya

Although the port is primarily industrial, the terminal offers a pleasant arrival with various amenities. Arriving one day before embarkation is strongly recommended due to the long flight time from the DACH region, allowing you to start your cruise adventure relaxed.
Airplane
Travel from the DACH region typically involves a flight to Juanda International Airport (SUB), located about 27 to 28 kilometers south of the port. Since there are no direct long-haul flights from Europe, you can travel comfortably via major hubs in Asia, such as Kuala Lumpur or Singapore. The airport has two terminals: Terminal 1 for most domestic flights and Terminal 2 for international flights as well as some domestic flights by Garuda Indonesia and Indonesia AirAsia.
Transfer & Shuttle
From Juanda International Airport (SUB), you can easily reach the cruise terminal by taxi or via ride-hailing apps like Grab and Gojek. A taxi ride takes about 27 to 28 minutes and costs between 140,000 and 180,000 Indonesian Rupiah. Cruise lines often offer their own shuttle services, and private shuttle companies are also available. Please note that the port area is an industrial zone and walking from the ship to the exit is not possible; a means of transport is mandatory. Additionally, plan sufficient time for transfers, as traffic in Surabaya can be very heavy, especially between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
For a stress-free embarkation after the long journey from the DACH region, an overnight stay in one of Surabaya's numerous hotels is recommended. Many hotels offer convenient connections to the airport and the port thanks to their good location. For example, you can reach Juanda Airport from the Mövenpick Surabaya City in about 20 minutes by car. A stay in a pre-cruise hotel also allows you to gather first impressions of the "City of Heroes" and acclimate to the tropical climate.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for the journey to the port accordingly and consider that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
The same applies during the journey: for shore excursions, you should be back on board no later than one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements and the notices on board, as berthing and departure times can change at short notice.
