Port information & tips for Benoa (Bali)

Benoa is the fascinating gateway to the Indonesian island of Bali, welcoming travelers with an unmistakable blend of exotic spirituality and tropical elegance. Located in the south of the island, it offers a perfect starting point to discover the deeply rooted Hindu culture, ornate temples, and the famous hospitality of the Balinese people. In the immediate vicinity, the historic Pura Sakenan temple on the island of Serangan beckons, as do the picturesque beaches of Sanur and the culinary highlights of Jimbaran Bay. Cruise ships dock at the modern Benoa Cruise Terminal, which offers excellent connections thanks to its strategic location, while being only about 20 minutes' drive from the island's capital Denpasar and the lively coastal towns of Kuta and Nusa Dua.

The Port of Benoa is sheltered in the south of Bali and serves as a modern gateway to the Indonesian island worlds. Thanks to its strategic location near the capital Denpasar and the well-developed Benoa Cruise Terminal, guests can reach their ship quickly and easily.

Airplane

Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) is located only about 12 kilometers from the port and is conveniently served from the DACH region with connecting flights via hubs such as Singapore or Dubai. The drive to the terminal usually takes only around 20 minutes via the modern, toll-based Bali Mandara Highway and offers initial wide views over the sea.

Transfer & Taxi

Reliable taxis from the Blue Bird Group as well as private transfer services are available at the airport and in the holiday regions for the trip to the ship. In addition, many cruise lines offer organized shuttle buses that drop guests off directly at the terminal and, thanks to fixed logistics processes, ensure a particularly comfortable arrival at the pier.

Pre-Cruise Hotel

Due to the long flight duration from Europe and the time difference, we recommend arriving at least two days before embarkation in the nearby regions of Nusa Dua or Sanur. These locations offer excellent hotel infrastructure and allow for relaxed acclimatization, while the terminal remains reachable in a short time on the day of departure.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that your travel documents usually include a fixed time slot for check-in, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for the journey to the port accordingly and take into account that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The following also applies during the voyage: For shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements and notices on board, as mooring and departure times may change at short notice.
