Returning to the ship

The port of Mormugao in Goa is becoming a major port of call for cruises on India's west coast. With the opening of a state-of-the-art international and domestic cruise terminal planned for March 2025, the journey for guests from the DACH region will be made even more comfortable. The terminal will offer comprehensive facilities such as 24 immigration counters, check-in counters, lounges, a food court, and parking, enabling a smooth embarkation experience.

Airplane

For international guests, arrival at Mormugao Port is usually by plane, as Goa is excellently connected. The nearest airport is Goa Dabolim Airport (GOI), located only about 5 to 12 kilometers from the port. This airport offers domestic as well as seasonal international charter flights. For long-haul flights from the DACH region, connecting flights via major hubs like Mumbai are common. The newer Manohar International Airport (GOX) near Mopa is located about 63 kilometers to the north and is therefore a more distant alternative.

Transfer & Shuttle

From Goa Dabolim Airport (GOI), you can easily reach Mormugao Port by taxi or auto-rickshaw. A taxi ride takes about 13 to 20 minutes depending on traffic and costs approximately 200–300 Indian Rupees to the nearby Mormugao Fort. It is recommended to negotiate the fare before starting the journey, as meters are rarely used. Numerous private transfer services can also be booked in advance and offer a comfortable door-to-door service to the cruise terminal. Direct shuttle buses from cruise lines are currently not the norm at the port, however, local transport options are available at the port exit.

Pre-Cruise Hotel

Due to the long journey from the DACH region, staying overnight in a pre-cruise hotel in Goa is highly recommended. In the vicinity of the port and Goa Dabolim Airport (GOI), there are numerous hotels that often offer airport transfers as well. The HQ is located only about 3.1 kilometers from Mormugao Port, while the La-Paz Gardens Beacon Hotel and the Regenta Place Vasco Goa are also easily accessible at a distance of 3.2 to 4.8 kilometers. An early arrival allows you to have a relaxed start to your vacation and provides the opportunity to explore the fascinating region of Goa before your embarkation.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port accordingly and take into account that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination area - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The same applies during the trip: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements and notices on board, as mooring and departure times can change at short notice.
