Sanya is known as the Hawaii of the East and is the tropical jewel at the southern tip of the Chinese island of Hainan. Glamorous highlights include the monumental, 108-meter-high Guanyin statue in the Nanshan Temple complex as well as the picturesque Luhuitou Park, which offers a wide view over the coastline. Cruise ships dock at the modern Sanya International Cruise Terminal on the artificially created Phoenix Island. Thanks to the prominent bridge connection, the city center of Sanya is easily accessible, allowing travelers to reach the lively waterfront promenade and the golden beaches of Sanya Bay in a very short time.

Airplane
Travel from the DACH region is usually by plane to Sanya Phoenix International Airport (SYX), as there are no direct flights and stopovers in major Chinese hubs such as Beijing or Shanghai are required. The airport is the closest and most convenient point of arrival for international travelers.
Transfer & Shuttle
From Sanya Phoenix International Airport (SYX), you can easily reach the Phoenix Island International Cruise Terminal by taxi or private transfer. Private transfer services offer the advantage of being picked up by a driver with a name sign at the airport and taken directly to the cruise port. The travel time by taxi to the city center is approximately 12 to 30 minutes, with the distance to the port being about 10 to 21 kilometers. Alternatively, airport buses are available, and there is a comfortable electric car service for a small fee from the terminal to the city center.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
Due to the long flight time from German-speaking countries, a pre-cruise overnight stay in Sanya is recommended. This allows for a relaxed start to your cruise without the rush of travel. Numerous hotels in areas such as Downtown Sanya, Sanya Bay, Dadonghai Bay, or Yalong Bay offer comfortable accommodations, and some also provide special transfer services to the cruise port.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port accordingly and bear in mind that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually about one hour before the scheduled departure.
