Maputo, the sun-drenched capital of Mozambique, welcomes travelers as one of the most charming destinations on the East African coast. Airplane
Maputo International Airport (MPM) is the nearest airport and is located only about 3 to 5 kilometers northwest of the city center and port. The flight time from major European hubs such as Copenhagen is about 11 hours for direct flights, which indicates the need for an early arrival. The airport is the largest in Mozambique and an important hub for LAM Mozambique Airlines with several intercontinental connections.
Transfer & Shuttle
From Maputo International Airport (MPM), you can reach the cruise port and surrounding hotels comfortably by taxi, with the journey to the city center taking about 10 minutes. It is recommended to agree on the fare before starting the journey, as many taxis do not use meters. In addition, various providers offer private transfer services from the airport to hotels or directly to the cruise terminal, guaranteeing a stress-free and comfortable arrival. Some cruise lines also provide their own shuttle services.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
Due to the long international flight times, it is advisable to arrive in Maputo at least one day before embarkation to prevent flight delays and start your cruise relaxed. Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for the journey to the port and take into account that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
