Car
Arrival by car is via the German A7 motorway, which transitions seamlessly into the Danish E45 at the border and leads travelers directly to Frederikshavn. From there, Route 40 leads through the dune landscape to Skagen, where guarded long-term parking is available directly at the cruise terminal as well as in the harbor area.
Train
Skagen station is connected to the Danish long-distance rail network via regional train connections from Frederikshavn and Aalborg and is therefore easily accessible from the direction of Hamburg. From the centrally located station, you can easily reach the terminal in about five minutes by taxi or use the approximately two-kilometer-long, level footpath for a first look at the city's famous yellow houses.
Airplane
Aalborg International Airport (AAL) is located around 100 kilometers south of Skagen and is served by various European hubs. Further travel to the port is very pleasant thanks to private transfer services or rental cars in about 80 minutes; additionally, there is a regular train connection from the nearby Lindholm station directly to the center of Skagen.

On Foot
The path from the terminal into the city is flat and offers a wonderful opportunity for a first walk along the coastline. Depending on the berth, you can reach the famous yellow houses and the museum district in about 20 to 30 minutes.
Shuttle Service & Taxis
For many ship arrivals, shuttle buses are available to take you directly to the central Kappelborg cultural center. In addition, taxis wait right at the port exit and offer a comfortable option for individual trips to more distant destinations such as the Buried Church.
Bicycles & Sandormen
Skagen can be explored flexibly by bicycle thanks to numerous rental stations, offering an authentic Danish travel experience. To visit the Grenen headland, the well-known Sandormen is also available—a special tractor-bus that transports passengers directly across the sandy beach to the outermost tip.

Grenen
At the northernmost tip of Denmark, the North Sea and the Baltic Sea meet spectacularly, inviting you to a unique natural experience right by the water. Skagen City Center and Harbor

Den Tilsandete Kirke
The sand-buried church of St. Laurentius is nestled in a gentle dune landscape and, thanks to its mysterious history, is a perfect destination for a short excursion south of the center. Today, only the white church tower rises out of the fine sand, forming an impressive monument in the midst of untouched nature.
Grenen – Where Two Seas Meet
The headland of Grenen, at the northernmost tip of Denmark, is easily accessible from the cruise port in about fifteen minutes by taxi or shuttle and offers the globally rare natural spectacle of two seas visibly meeting. This magical place impresses with its vast sandy beaches and unique light conditions, and invites you to a comfortable exploration directly to the water's edge thanks to the charming "Sandormen" tractor bus. At the parking lot, you will also find the Grenen Kunstmuseum and an inviting restaurant for a relaxed break with a sea view. Ideally, visit this highlight in the morning to enjoy the tranquility of nature to the fullest, and plan your return to the ship at the latest ninety minutes before departure.
The way back to the port of Skagen is very straightforward and safe thanks to the short distances and well-organized infrastructure.
Shuttle Service and Local Transport
On port days, a shuttle bus regularly commutes between the cruise terminal and the city center near the railway station and the Skagen Museum. If you visit the Grenen excursion point, the famous Sandormen tractor-bus will take you comfortably back to the parking lot there, from where you have a direct connection to the buses back to the ship.
On Foot
From the city center, you can reach the cruise ship berths in about 15 to 20 minutes with a relaxed walk. The route leads through the picturesque streets with the characteristic yellow houses and is very easy to find thanks to the good signage and the ships visible from afar.
Taxi
Taxi stands can be found directly at Skagen station as well as near the major hotels in the city center. Local drivers are well-prepared for the ships' departure times and will take you directly back to the port entrance via a short route and perfectly on time.
