The journey from the airport to the terminal takes about 30 to 40 minutes via the Windward Highway, depending on traffic. Local minibuses with their characteristic colorful stripes start at the nearby bus station not far from the terminal. They offer an authentic and affordable option and connect the port directly with the island's picturesque coastal villages.
Taxi and Water Taxi
Official taxis wait for passengers directly at the port exit and will take you quickly to the Botanical Gardens or the beaches. In addition, water taxis from the waterfront allow for a comfortable trip across the sea to destinations such as Villa Beach or Indian Bay.

Villa Beach
The idyllic Villa Beach can be reached from the port in about fifteen minutes by taxi or particularly comfortably by water taxi and offers the perfect backdrop for a relaxing day by the sea. Thanks to the shallow, calm waters and the direct view of the exclusive private island Young Island, you can enjoy first-class conditions for swimming and snorkeling here. The adjacent beach bars and restaurants also provide an excellent infrastructure with cool drinks and local specialties directly on the coast. Ideally, visit the beach in the morning to experience the relaxed calm before the arrival of excursion groups, and plan your return trip at the latest ninety minutes before the ship sets sail.
The way back to the cruise terminal in Kingstown is very straightforward thanks to its central location right on the edge of the island's capital and the well-organized transport options. For trips from outside the city, plan for a small time buffer due to the often heavy traffic in the narrow streets.

Taxis can be found at central locations such as Market Square as well as directly in front of the larger hotel complexes at Villa Beach or the Blue Lagoon Hotel. Thanks to government-set rates, you can enjoy transparent pricing and reach the port area comfortably and on time within a few minutes' drive.
Local Minibuses
The affordable local minibuses, also known as Dollar Vans, depart from the central terminals near Kingstown Market and connect the coastal towns with the capital. Simply tell the driver "Cruise Terminal" when boarding, and you will be dropped off right near the port entrance on Bay Street.
On Foot
From the city center, the historic churches, and the local market, you can take a relaxed five to ten-minute walk back to the pier. The route leads along Bay Street and is easy to find at any time thanks to the visible ships and clear signage to the terminal entrance.
