Cultural highlights include the historic Obélisque de Port-Vendres and the picturesque neighboring town of Collioure, which is considered the birthplace of Fauvism and can be reached quickly thanks to short distances. Train
The Port-Vendres-Ville station is part of the Narbonne–Portbou railway line and allows for a convenient arrival by train. From Perpignan, you can reach Port Vendres in only about 23 minutes by direct train. Although there is no ticket counter at Port-Vendres station itself, onward travel from Perpignan main station is easy thanks to regular connections. The harbor is within walking distance of the station.
Airplane
The nearest airport is Perpignan-Rivesaltes (PGF), approximately 31 to 35 kilometers from Port Vendres. From there, you can efficiently reach Perpignan station by bus (approx. 20 minutes travel time) and then take the train directly to Port Vendres (approx. 30 minutes). Alternatively, taxi services and private transfers are available, allowing for a direct trip to the harbor. For long-haul flights from the DACH region, we recommend arriving the day before to start your cruise experience relaxed.

Please note that your travel documents usually include a fixed time slot for check-in, which is binding for your embarkation. Le Bus à 1€ (Lio)
The inexpensive regional bus connects Port Vendres directly with the noteworthy neighboring towns of Collioure and Banyuls-sur-Mer. The stops are located near the harbor and allow for an uncomplicated exploration of the coast for a symbolic price of only one euro per way.
Taxi
Official taxis are available directly in the harbor area or near the Office de Tourisme. They offer a fast connection to the surrounding vineyards and regional sights and can also be easily organized for individual tours.
To get the most out of your stay in Port Vendres, a combination of the authentic maritime flair of the harbor and the cultural treasures of the directly adjacent coastal sections is recommended.
Port Vendres Harbor District
The charming natural harbor impresses with its lively fishing tradition and the impressive architecture of Vauban; additionally, numerous restaurants along the quay wall invite you to enjoy freshly caught fish in a relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere.
Collioure
The picturesque neighboring town can be reached quickly thanks to a short drive or a hike along the coast and enchants with its colorful facades as well as the striking bell tower, which once inspired famous painters like Henri Matisse to create their works.
Anse de Paulilles
This idyllic bay is nestled in the rocky coastal landscape and, thanks to the combination of a well-maintained park area and crystal-clear swimming water, offers the perfect place for a relaxing break in the midst of untouched nature.
Collioure and the Sentier du Littoral
The picturesque town of Collioure is easily accessible from the port in Port Vendres via the beautiful coastal path "Sentier du Littoral" in about thirty minutes on foot or in a few minutes by taxi. This place is considered the pearl of the Côte Vermeille and delights with its colorful facades, the imposing Château Royal, and the iconic church of Notre-Dame-des-Anges right by the sea. Thanks to the numerous art galleries and inviting cafes along the waterfront promenade, you can enjoy a unique atmosphere here that has already inspired masters such as Matisse and Derain. Ideally, start your excursion in the morning to take advantage of the soft morning sun for photos and return to the ship in time for lunch or enjoy fresh sardines in one of the harbor restaurants.
The return journey to the harbour of Port Vendres is extremely relaxed and safe thanks to the short distances and the clear layout of the town.
On Foot
From the waterfront promenade and local restaurants, you can walk back comfortably in a few minutes to your ship at Quai de la République or Quai Pierre Forgas. The paths are level and lead directly along the picturesque harbour basin, allowing you to keep your bearings at all times and enjoy the maritime atmosphere.
Bus and Train
To return from neighbouring Collioure, use the affordable Lio bus line 540, which reliably takes you to the central Obélisque stop in Port Vendres. Regional trains also run between the stations of Collioure and Port Vendres, from where you can easily reach the harbour after a short walk.
Taxi
Taxi ranks are located at central points such as Place de l'Obélisque in Port Vendres and Place du Maréchal Leclerc in Collioure. The journey to the ship takes only a few minutes and can be easily organised directly at the rank or through local hotels to ensure you are back on board on time for departure.
