Thessaloniki Airport (SKG), located approximately 215 kilometers away, serves as the most important year-round hub, offering numerous daily direct flights from Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, and Zurich, and allowing for onward travel by rental car or shuttle in around two hours.

Volos Railway Station is located only about 1.5 kilometers from the port and is connected to the main line between Athens and Thessaloniki via the important railway hub of Larissa. On Foot

Taxi

City Buses
The blue local buses operated by the company Astiko KTEL stop near the port and regularly connect the center with the outskirts as well as nearby beaches. Tickets are easily available at kiosks or directly at the stops.

Makrinitsa
This picturesque mountain village is known as the balcony of Pelion due to its terraced location and wide views over the gulf; at the same time, the village impresses with its traditional architecture and shady spots under ancient plane trees.
Alykes Beach
This popular stretch of coast is just a short drive from the port and, thanks to its calm, clear water and excellent infrastructure, offers ideal conditions for a relaxing day at the beach in close proximity to the ship.
Makrinitsa – The Balcony of Pelion
The picturesque mountain village of Makrinitsa is reachable by taxi or rental car in about thirty minutes from the port of Volos and, as the "Balcony of Pelion," offers a spectacular panoramic view over the city and the Pagasetic Gulf. Thanks to the well-preserved, traditional architecture with its striking stone houses and the central village square under shady, centuries-old plane trees, you will experience the authentic atmosphere of the region here. The village is ideal for a relaxed stroll through the cobblestone alleys and also features charming cafes as well as small shops with local products such as herbs and honey. Ideally, start your excursion in the early morning to enjoy the special tranquility in the mountains, and plan your return to the port about ninety minutes before departure.
Thanks to the advantageous location of the port directly at the city center, the way back to the ship in Volos is particularly pleasant and safe.
Taxi
You will find taxi stands at central hubs such as Eleftherias Square as well as directly on the lively Argonafton waterfront promenade. In addition, you can conveniently find taxis at prominent locations in the center to return quickly and punctually to the guarded port entrance from more distant destinations like the Pelion Mountains or the Archaeological Museum.
Bus
The blue city buses run regularly between the suburbs and the city center and also stop within comfortable walking distance of the port gate. Thanks to the good connection to stops near the Town Hall and the main train station, you can also get back to the port area easily and directly from the surrounding beaches.
On Foot
From the main shopping street Ermou and the popular waterfront promenade, you can reach your ship in just a few minutes with a relaxed walk. The way back is easy to find thanks to the prominent visual axes and clear signage to the terminal, leading you safely through the lively port district back to your berth.
