Returning to the ship

Çanakkale, strategically located on the Dardanelles, is a history-steeped cruise port that is easy to reach thanks to good connections via the local airport and the road network. Cruise ships usually dock at the Çanakkale Kepez Cruise Port, which is located about 4 kilometers south of the city center and from where shuttle services and taxis are available.

Airplane

The fastest way to arrive is via Çanakkale Airport (CKZ), located only about 2 kilometers from the city center. Guests from the DACH region can easily reach Çanakkale with connecting flights via major Turkish hubs such as Istanbul (IST or SAW) or Ankara (ESB). Alternatively, Edremit Koca Seyit Airport (EDO) is about 80 to 85 kilometers away and offers good bus or taxi transfer options to Çanakkale. From Çanakkale Airport, you can reach the port or your hotel in just a few minutes by taxi or local bus.

Car

Thanks to the modern Malkara-Çanakkale Motorway, which is part of the extensive Kınalı-Tekirdağ-Çanakkale-Savaştepe Motorway project, Çanakkale can be easily reached by car. A special highlight is the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, which allows for a direct crossing of the Dardanelles, making ferry crossings from the European side of Turkey unnecessary. Monitored parking facilities are available in Çanakkale itself and at many hotels to safely park your vehicle during the cruise.

Transfer & Pre-Cruise Hotel

For a relaxed arrival after an international flight from the DACH region, we recommend booking a pre-cruise hotel in Çanakkale. This not only provides an opportunity to acclimatize but also to explore the historical sites of Troy or the Gallipoli memorials before embarkation. Private transfer services will bring you reliably and comfortably from Çanakkale (CKZ) or Edremit (EDO) airports directly to your hotel or the cruise terminal. Additionally, shuttles or taxis are available at the Kepez Cruise Port, ensuring a smooth onward journey to the city center.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that your travel documents usually provide you with a fixed time slot for check-in, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port and take into account that the latest embarkation time—depending on the cruise line and destination—is generally scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The same applies during the voyage: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements and notices on board, as docking and departure times can change at short notice.
