The city center is easily reachable on foot from the harbor, and a shuttle service to the i-SITE Visitor Information Centre is offered.
Airplane
For guests from the DACH region, travel to Gisborne typically involves a long-haul flight to Auckland (AKL) or Wellington (WLG), followed by a convenient domestic flight to Gisborne Airport (GIS). Gisborne Airport is located only about 3 to 4.2 kilometers from the city center and the harbor and offers daily direct connections with Air New Zealand.
Transfer & Shuttle
From Gisborne Airport, you can reach the harbor or the city center quickly and easily. Taxis take only about 3 to 10 minutes for the journey, and private transfers as well as pre-bookable shared shuttles are also available. Car rentals are available directly at the airport if you wish to explore the region on your own.
