Auckland is the pulsating heart of New Zealand's North Island and is often referred to as the "City of Sails" due to its impressive location on the Hauraki Gulf. Auckland is the heart of the New Zealand cruise world, boasting a central location right in the city center at the Princess Wharf and Queens Wharf terminals. Airplane
Auckland Airport (AKL) is located approximately 22 kilometers south of the terminals and is served by travelers from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland via hubs such as Singapore, Dubai, or San Francisco. The onward journey to the port is convenient via State Highway 20 and State Highway 1, with taxis or rideshare services taking about 30 to 45 minutes and dropping you off directly at the check-in areas of the wharves.
Transfer & Public Transport
Thanks to the SkyDrive express bus, you can reach the city center at the SkyCity stop regularly and cost-effectively from the airport, from where the terminals are quickly accessible. Additionally, the Britomart Transport Centre is located in the immediate vicinity of the piers as a central rail hub, enabling an uncomplicated arrival by train as well as direct access to the neighboring Ferry Terminal for maritime explorations.
Pre-Cruise Hotel
Due to the long flight duration and the time difference, arriving at least two days before embarkation is highly recommended to start your vacation relaxed.
