Salalah, located in southern Oman, is an important destination for cruises on the Arabian Sea and offers comfortable accessibility primarily by plane. Although the port is industrial in character, it is well connected to the nearby airport and the city thanks to organized transfers and shuttles.

Airplane

Salalah International Airport (SLL) is the closest arrival point, located only about 22 kilometers from the cruise port. Oman Air frequently offers convenient connections from Europe with a layover in Muscat. For the long journey from the DACH region, it is recommended to arrive at least one day before embarkation.

Transfer & Shuttle

From Salalah International Airport (SLL), you can reach the cruise port or your hotel comfortably with pre-booked private transfers. The travel time from the airport to the port is approximately 24 minutes. From the cruise ship, shuttle buses usually take you directly to the port exit, where taxis are available for trips to the city center. The journey to the city center takes about 15 minutes.

Pre-Cruise Hotel

For a relaxed start to your cruise in Salalah, an overnight stay in one of the local hotels before embarkation is recommended. Ideally, start your visit in the morning to enjoy the site in peace, and perfectly combine the excursion with a detour to the nearby frankincense souk before returning to the ship on time and stress-free.

Returning to the ship

The return journey to the Port of Salalah is very relaxed thanks to the well-developed infrastructure and can be safely planned using motorized transport.

Taxis and rideshare services

Official taxis can be found at central locations such as Hafa Souq or in front of Salalah Gardens Mall and can be easily used for the direct return journey. Additionally, the local app OTaxi offers a convenient way to order a vehicle to your current location and arrive safely at the terminal.

Cruise line shuttle buses

Cruise lines frequently provide their own shuttle buses that commute between the port and Salalah Gardens Mall. These buses run at regular intervals and take you directly back to the ship's gangway, ensuring you arrive on board on time and without any detours.

Hotel transfers and beach returns

If you spend the day at one of the beach resorts such as the Crowne Plaza or the Al Baleed Resort, the hotel staff can quickly and easily organize a taxi for you.
