Ideally, visit the castle in the morning to experience the exhibitions in peace, and plan your return journey to the harbor at least ninety minutes before departure to discover local specialties such as the famous Arran cheese at your leisure in the village of Brodick.
Returning to the pier in Brodick is very relaxed and safe, thanks to the compact structure of the island's main village.
Local Buses
Stagecoach buses use the Brodick Ferry Terminal as a central hub and take guests from excursion destinations such as the Ardrossan ferry or the Isle of Arran Distillery directly to the harbour. Lines 322, 323, and 324 stop right at the terminal building, and their synchronized schedules allow for a reliable arrival at the tender pier.
Taxi
Taxis are often found directly at the rank in front of the ferry terminal or can be easily called through local providers such as ARC Taxis or from hotels like the Auchrannie Resort. Since the number of vehicles on the island is limited, making a telephone reservation in advance ensures extra security and a punctual return to the ship.
On Foot
From the village centre in Brodick, a flat and well-signposted path leads along the shore promenade directly back to the harbour basin. The walk also offers a beautiful view of the bay and can be easily completed from the northern end of the village or from the Heritage Museum in about 15 to 20 minutes.
