The Sakata North Port Cruise Terminal is situated in an industrial area about 6 to 7 kilometers from the city center and is not within walking distance.

Airplane

For travel from the DACH region, an international flight to a major Japanese hub such as Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) is recommended, followed by a convenient domestic flight to the nearest Shonai Airport (SYO). This regional airport is about 14 to 15 kilometers away from the port and offers the fastest option for onward travel. Due to the long flight time, it is advisable to arrive in Japan at least one day before embarkation to start your cruise relaxed.

Transfer & Shuttle

From Shonai Airport (SYO), you can easily reach the center of Sakata by limousine bus, for example to Sakata Station or the Sankyo Soko rice storehouses. The journey takes about 29 to 40 minutes and costs between ¥770 and ¥930. Alternatively, a taxi is available, covering the distance in about 13 to 25 minutes for approximately ¥4,900 to ¥8,500. From Sakata Station, the relevant transport hub, the port can be reached by taxi in around 10 to 20 minutes.
