Returning to the ship

The cruise port of La Baie, officially known as Ville de la Baie Ha! Ha!, welcomes ships directly at Quai Marcel-Dionne in the heart of the Saguenay community. Thanks to the well-equipped terminal infrastructure and direct connections, the port is easily accessible for guests from the DACH region by plane and subsequent transfers, allowing for a relaxed embarkation.

Airplane

The nearest airport is Saguenay-Bagotville Airport (YBG), located about 8.2 kilometers from La Baie. It offers daily flight connections to Montreal-Trudeau (YUL) and Quebec City (YQB), enabling convenient onward travel after long-haul flights from Europe. The flight time from Montreal to YBG is only around 55 minutes.

Transfer & Shuttle

From Saguenay-Bagotville Airport (YBG), you can reach the port of La Baie in about 11 minutes by taxi thanks to the short distances. Taxis are available directly at the cruise terminal. Additionally, the port offers an efficient "Blue Bus" inter-arrondissement shuttle system that connects the pier in La Baie with the districts of Chicoutimi and Jonquière; a day pass costs approximately 30 CAD. These shuttles are a comfortable way to explore the wider region.

Pre-Cruise Hotel

For a relaxed arrival from the DACH region, especially after long intercontinental flights, we recommend staying overnight in a pre-cruise hotel in Montreal, Quebec City, or near Saguenay-Bagotville Airport. In La Baie itself, accommodations such as the Auberge des 21 are available near the port, ideal for a stress-free start to your cruise.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that your travel documents usually include a fixed time slot for check-in, which is mandatory for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port and keep in mind that the latest embarkation time—depending on the cruise line and destination—is generally about one hour before the scheduled departure.

The same applies during the voyage: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements and notices on board, as docking and departure times may change at short notice.
