Transfer & Ferry to the Islands
After arriving at Luwuk Airport (LUW), located about 11 kilometers from Luwuk city center, you can easily reach the port by taxi in about 15 to 20 minutes. From the "Pelabuhan Rakyat" (public harbor) in Luwuk, regular ferries and speedboats run to the various islands of the Banggai Archipelago. A ferry connection to Peleng Island (Leme Leme), for example, takes 2 to 3 hours and operates daily at 2:00 PM. Faster speedboats take you to the islands in less time, reaching Banggai Island in about 45 minutes.

On Foot
The charming city center and local markets are located in the immediate vicinity of the port. You can easily reach the main sights and shops within 5 to 10 minutes on a relaxed walk along the coast.

These motorized rickshaws, typical for the region, wait for passengers directly at the port exit. They offer an authentic and comfortable way to explore the city and also to reach slightly more distant places on the island effortlessly.
Ojeks and Water Taxis
For fast connections, numerous motorcycle taxis, known as Ojeks, are available to take you quickly to your destination. Additionally, you will find traditional boats at the quay that function as water taxis and, thanks to short distances, enable a direct crossing to the picturesque neighboring islands.

Bentor (Motorcycle Rickshaws)
These traditional vehicles are available at any time at central locations such as Pasar Sentral or near the Keraton Banggai and will bring you quickly back through the alleys. The drivers know the way to the port quay exactly and ensure a punctual arrival at the pier thanks to their local knowledge.
On Foot
From the city center and the nearby markets, you can comfortably walk back to the port area in a few minutes. The path is easy to find thanks to the clear structure of the island town and leads you safely along the waterfront promenade directly to check-in.
