Returning to the ship

Omis, a picturesque town at the mouth of the Cetina River, is a charming destination on the Dalmatian coast and serves as a calling point for smaller cruise ships and yacht trips. As there are no large, dedicated cruise terminals, embarkation usually takes place directly in the town's harbor area.

Car

Omis is well connected to the Croatian road network and is located about 25 kilometers southeast of Split. Travelers from the DACH region can reach Omis easily via the A1 motorway by taking the Dugopolje exit when coming from the direction of Zagreb and then following the D8 towards Split and Omis. Alternatively, you can also use the Blato na Cetina exit from the A1 and choose the D-70, although this route is less recommended for larger vehicles. From the south, for example from the direction of Dubrovnik, the D8 Adriatic Highway leads directly through the center of Omis. It is advisable to avoid driving through the town center during high season, as traffic jams can occur. Paid parking is available in Omis, such as the "Veliki Parking" before the bridge coming from Split, with fees around 1 Euro per hour. Other parking options can be found near the Riva and the bus station, where hourly rates are around 1.50 to 2.50 Euro. Free parking spaces are rare and often occupied during high season.

Airplane

The nearest international airport is Split (SPU), also known as Resnik, located in Kaštela and approximately 40 to 44 kilometers from Omis. Various transfer options are available from there. A convenient option is a taxi or a private transfer, which will take you to Omis in about 45 minutes to an hour and costs between 50 and 80 Euro depending on the provider. Alternatively, you can take a shuttle bus from the airport to the main bus station in Split, from where local buses run regularly to Omis – about every half hour. The total bus journey including transfers takes about 1 hour and 25 minutes to 2 hours. For a relaxed arrival, it is recommended to stay overnight in Split the day before if arriving on a long-haul flight.

Train

Omis does not have its own train station. The nearest relevant station is the main station in Split. From there, however, you can reach Omis very easily by bus: direct connections from Split bus station run hourly and reach Omis in about 32 to 40 minutes. The cost of a bus ticket is between 1 and 8 Euro.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port and bear in mind that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually about one hour before the scheduled departure.

The same applies during the voyage: for shore excursions, you should be back on board no later than one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements and the notices on board, as mooring and departure times can change at short notice.
