Returning to the ship

The charming port of Nydri on the Ionian island of Lefkada is a picturesque stop for cruises, primarily as a tender port. Thanks to the bridge connection to the mainland, the island is easily accessible and offers guests from the DACH region various convenient travel options for a relaxed start to their cruise.

Airplane

The fastest way for guests from the DACH region to arrive is via Aktion International Airport (PVK) near Preveza. It is located approximately 24 to 39 kilometers from Nydri and can be reached in about 45 minutes by car. From April to October, the airport offers direct flight connections from various European cities.

Car

Lefkada is the only Greek island directly connected to the mainland by a bridge, making arrival by car possible without ferry costs. The island is well-connected to the Greek road network, particularly via the Preveza-Aktio underwater tunnel, which facilitates access from northwestern Greece and the ferry port of Igoumenitsa (a major gateway from Western and Central Europe). Various parking options are available for your vehicle in Nydri, including the secure Nidri Central Parking, which is open 24/7.

Transfer & Pre-Cruise Hotel

From Preveza Airport (PVK), you can easily reach Nydri by taxi or a pre-booked private transfer. These services offer a stress-free and predictable journey at fixed prices in around 45 minutes. Given the often longer journey from the DACH region and to start your cruise relaxed, an overnight stay in one of the charming pre-cruise hotels in Nydri or nearby Lefkada Town is recommended.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port accordingly and keep in mind that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The same applies during the voyage: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements and notices on board, as berthing and departure times can change at short notice.
