Traveling to Riol by car is extremely convenient via the A1 motorway (Mosel-Saarbrücken), which runs about 800 meters south of the town and provides a direct connection to Trier and Saarbrücken. Public parking is available for your car, including a parking lot at the roundabout near the pier. There is also a daily parking lot on the Unnamed Road in 54340 Riol, a flat meadow directly on the river with a fee of 3 euros.
Train
The nearest major railway station is Trier Hauptbahnhof, which is excellently connected to the German rail network. From there, you can easily reach Riol with the Moselbahn bus line 22. The journey from Trier Hauptbahnhof to the "Riol, Bahnhofstraße" or "Riol, Im Pichter" stops takes about 41 minutes and allows for a relaxed transfer to your ship.
Airplane
For international guests or travelers from more distant regions, Luxembourg Airport (LUX) is the closest international airport. From there, various transfer options to Riol are available, often via Trier Hauptbahnhof. The bus connection from Trier to Riol takes another 41 minutes. When arriving by plane, we recommend staying overnight in the Trier region the day before to start your embarkation relaxed and on time.

Local taxi companies are available on call and allow for flexible onward travel to destinations in the immediate vicinity. In addition, surrounding train stations such as Schweich can be reached in a few minutes, offering additional connections to the regional rail network.

Returning to the ship dock in Riol is very comfortable and safe, thanks to the short distances and the location directly on the Moselle Cycle Route.
On Foot
From the popular Triolago leisure center or the summer toboggan run, you can stroll back directly to the banks of the Moselle in just a few minutes via flat and well-maintained paths. Navigation is easy, as the path always runs parallel to the river and you can see your ship from afar.
Bus and Regional Transport
The Riol Ort bus stop connects the village with the surrounding wine villages and the nearby train station in Schweich. Thanks to the clear signage, you can quickly make your way from the stop in the center of the village through the quiet streets back to the dock and reach your ship punctually before departure.
Taxi
Should you return from an excursion in the surrounding area such as Trier or Schweich, sufficient taxis are available at the train stations there. Within Riol, the staff at the reception of the Hotel am See or at the Triolago information desk will be happy to assist you in ordering a local taxi for a direct and comfortable ride to the quay.
