The port of Münster, an attractive inland port on the Dortmund-Ems Canal, is a popular starting point for river cruises and is very easy to reach from the entire DACH region thanks to its central location and excellent connections to the transport network. Embarkation usually takes place at the lively Kreativkai.

Car

Münster is optimally connected via the A1 and A43 motorways. From there, you can reach the port directly via the B51 and Albersloher Weg. Various parking options are available on site, including the PSD-Hafengarage and the Albersloher Weg parking area. In addition, the Hafenmarkt car park at Hansaring 52 offers short-term and long-term parking spaces, with the first two hours being free of charge and the maximum daily rate being 20 euros. For longer stays, there is also the option of booking parking spaces in advance via an app from providers such as 1-2-3 parkplatzfrei.

Train

Münster Main Station is an important hub for ICE, IC, and regional trains with direct connections from many German metropolises. From the main station, you can easily reach the port on foot in about 900 meters. Alternatively, local bus lines will take you from Münster (Westfalen) Main Station to the port in around 5 minutes, with the bus connection running at least five times per hour.

Airplane

Münster/Osnabrück International Airport (FMO) is the nearest airport and is located around 25 kilometers north of Münster. From there, you can reach the port area by taxi in about 20 to 30 minutes, with costs usually ranging between 40 and 50 euros. There are also transfer options with public buses, which take you to Münster city center in 30 to 40 minutes for about 3 euros, as well as via special airport transfer services such as FMO Airport Shuttle.

Prinzipalmarkt and Lambertikirche

The historic Prinzipalmarkt, Münster's "parlor," is located about two kilometers from the Stadthafen and is easily reached in a few minutes thanks to a pleasant walk or a short taxi ride. The magnificent gabled houses and the striking Lambertikirche create a unique backdrop, perfect for cultural discoveries and relaxed breaks in traditional cafés. In the charming arcades, you will also find first-class shopping opportunities and enjoy the special atmosphere of this history-steeped city right in the heart of the center. Ideally, visit the Prinzipalmarkt in the morning to experience the architecture in the best light, and return to the harbor relaxed no later than sixty minutes before departure.

Returning to the ship

The city port of Münster impresses with its location close to the center and allows you a completely stress-free return to the ship thanks to short distances and excellent infrastructure.

Taxi

Central taxi ranks are located directly at the Prinzipalmarkt and in front of the main station, so you can return to the Kreativkai comfortably and quickly at any time. Thanks to the short journey times, you will reach your berth within a few minutes and thus enjoy maximum flexibility until shortly before departure.

Bus

Local bus lines 17 and 8 as well as various regional buses connect the old town directly with the Hafen or Stadtwerke stops. In addition, the use of local public transport is easy and reliable thanks to the frequent service, which guarantees you a punctual arrival at the ship.

On foot

From the historic city center, a beautiful and safe path leads across the car-free promenade or through the charming Hansaviertel directly to the harbor basin. The walk is well-signposted and can be comfortably completed in about 15 to 20 minutes while you enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the city.
