Heilbronn is a significant and centrally located port for river cruises on the Neckar and is easily accessible from the DACH region thanks to its excellent transport links. The berths are located close to the city center and allow for convenient access to the downtown area.

Car

Thanks to the direct connection to the A6 (E50) and A81 (E41) motorways as well as the B27, B39, and B293 federal roads, you can reach Heilbronn easily. For the duration of your trip, public parking spaces are available near the berths, for example in Hafenstraße or Lohtorstraße. In addition, the city center offers numerous parking garages for conveniently parking your vehicle.

Train

Heilbronn Hauptbahnhof is an important regional hub and offers excellent connections to the ICE stops in Stuttgart, Mannheim, and Würzburg with regular interval services. From the main station, you can reach the centrally located berths and the city center comfortably on foot via several bridges or with the local city train (S4, S41, S42) and bus lines.

Airplane

The nearest airport is Stuttgart (STR), around 50 to 60 kilometers away, with a travel time of about 40 to 50 minutes. Direct bus connections from the Stuttgart Airport Busterminal to Heilbronn Hauptbahnhof also exist, with a travel time of approximately 1 hour and 5 minutes. Alternatively, Frankfurt Airport (FRA) is an option, located about 111 to 128 kilometers away and accessible by direct bus or train in around 2 hours and 1 minute. Numerous private transfer services ensure a relaxed onward journey to the ship. For longer flights, we recommend arriving the day before to start your cruise experience well-rested and stress-free.

Thanks to the well-developed network of the Heilbronner Hohenloher Haller local transport system, you can quickly reach destinations throughout the region as well as the main train station with modern light rails and buses. The stops are easily accessible from the port and offer ideal connections to the surrounding area.

Taxi

Official taxis are available at central stands near the Neckar promenade and offer first-class service for individual trips. They can also be conveniently ordered directly to the ship and will take you quickly to the picturesque vineyards or sights in the area.

The Heilbronn Neckarmeile

The charming Heilbronner Neckarmeile is located directly at the ship pier and is easily reachable in just a few minutes on foot. This vibrant riverside promenade offers a perfect combination of urban flair and a relaxed river atmosphere, with numerous cafés and restaurants featuring inviting outdoor terraces that encourage you to linger right by the water. Thanks to its central location, a visit can be ideally combined with a short detour to the nearby historic Town Hall or the modern Neckarbogen district, which impresses with its extensive parklands. It is best to enjoy your stay in the early afternoon to fully experience the sunny ambiance, and return to the ship in a relaxed manner approximately sixty minutes before departure.

Returning to the ship

The way back to your mooring on the Neckar is very straightforward and relaxed thanks to the central location of the berths in Heilbronn. This ensures you reach your ship on time while enjoying the beautiful atmosphere along the riverbank.

On Foot

From the Marktplatz or the Experimenta science center, you can stroll back to your ship along the picturesque Neckarmeile directly on the waterfront. The path is level and well-signposted, and the lively riverside promenade provides safe and pleasant orientation all the way to your respective mooring.

Taxi

Taxis are available at the central stands at the Marktplatz right by the Rathaus, as well as at Heilbronn Hauptbahnhof. In addition, the staff at the Parkhotel or the Insel-Hotel directly on the Neckar will be happy to order a car for you so that you can reach your berth comfortably and within a few minutes.

Public Transport

HNV buses and city train lines connect the pedestrian zone and the Hauptbahnhof directly with the stops near the Neckar moorings. Thanks to the high frequency of service and the clear digital displays at the stops, you will return to your cruise ship quickly and reliably.
