On-site, you can enjoy an excellent infrastructure with inviting restaurants and kiosks serving fresh local specialties and cool drinks right by the water. It is best to visit the beach in the morning to experience the fresh sea breeze and the vastness in peace, and ideally plan your return journey to the port ninety minutes before departure.
The way back to the port is straightforward and safe thanks to Porto Novo's central location and well-organized infrastructure. Plan a small buffer of about 15 minutes for security checks at the port entrance to ensure you are on board on time.

From the historic core around the Museu Oceanográfico and the Mercado Público, the way to Porto Novo is short and easy to find. The route leads along paved roads and the port area is well-guarded by security personnel, so you can comfortably manage the walk back to the terminal with a short stroll.
