From there, the pier can be comfortably reached on foot or with a short taxi transfer. Briefly pulling up to drop off guests directly at the pier is possible.
Bahn
Pöchlarn railway station is an important junction on the Westbahn line and offers Regional Express connections to Vienna Westbahnhof and Amstetten, for example, as well as regional trains to St. Pölten. The barrier-free station features a Park & Ride facility. From here, you can reach the ship pier in a few minutes' walk. Alternatively, a collective taxi (AST) is also available at the station for the transfer.

The nearest major international airport is Vienna-Schwechat Airport (VIE), located around 100 kilometers from Pöchlarn. The travel time by car or private transfer is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Direct train connections from Vienna Airport to Pöchlarn do not exist, but various transfer companies offer comfortable shuttle services, starting from 158 euros for a journey. For a relaxed embarkation, especially after long flights, arriving the day before with an overnight stay in the region is recommended.

Pöchlarn station is within easy walking distance and serves as an important hub for excursions into the Wachau or to the nearby Melk Abbey. The trains of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) and the VOR regional buses also provide a fast and uncomplicated connection to the entire region.
Taxi

A visit to this cultural jewel provides a deep insight into the artist's work and can be perfectly combined with a relaxing stroll through the historic old town of Pöchlarn and a refreshment in one of the charming cafés on the nearby marketplace. It is best to visit the museum right after docking to fully enjoy the tranquility of the exhibition rooms, and plan enough time afterwards for a look at the impressive Nibelungendenkmal before comfortably returning to the ship.

On Foot
From the central Kirchenplatz or the Oskar-Kokoschka-Haus, you can walk comfortably in just a few minutes via Regensburger Straße back to the waterfront promenade. The path is flat and easy to find at any time, thanks to the prominent Danube bridge serving as a landmark.
Taxi
Taxi stands can be found directly at Pöchlarn railway station and at the larger restaurants in the center. The short distances within the town ensure a quick return, and the drivers will take you directly to your ship's gangway.
Train and Bus
For excursions into the Wachau, use the trains to Pöchlarn railway station and reach the pier from there in a short walk. In addition, regional buses stop directly in the town center, guaranteeing you a flexible and timely return to the port.
