Arriving by car is convenient via the A17 motorway towards Prague until the Pirna exit, from where you follow the B172 towards Bad Schandau. Königstein is located about 8 kilometers past the imposing Festung Königstein in the Elbe Valley. For long-term parkers, the year-round "Festung Königstein" parking garage on the B172 is recommended, offering ample parking spaces. Shuttles to the city center are available from there if needed. In the town itself, further but limited parking options are available.
Train
Königstein has its own railway station (Königstein/Sächs. Schweiz), which is located directly at the river pier and thus allows for a particularly short walk to the ship. From Dresden Hauptbahnhof, you can reach Königstein directly and relaxed thanks to the S-Bahn line S1 towards Schöna. The S-Bahn runs every 30 minutes, guaranteeing a flexible arrival. If you are arriving from the direction of the Czech Republic, use long-distance trains to Bad Schandau and change there for a short S-Bahn ride.
Airplane
The nearest airport is Dresden Airport (DRS), which is approximately 40 kilometers from Königstein. From Dresden Airport, you can comfortably reach your destination in Königstein by transfer or taxi. Alternatively, you can take the S-Bahn S2 from the airport to Dresden Hauptbahnhof and then the S1 to Königstein. Arriving by plane, ideally with an overnight stay in Dresden beforehand, allows for a relaxed start to your river cruise.

S-Bahn and Elbe ferry
The railway station with connections to the S-Bahn line S1 is located just a few minutes' walk from the terminal and allows for quick excursions to Dresden or Bad Schandau. Additionally, a passenger ferry regularly connects the port area with the opposite bank in Halbestadt.

Fortress Express and Ferry
The Festungsexpress shuttles regularly between Festung Königstein and the town center, bringing you comfortably back to Reißigerplatz in the immediate vicinity of the port. Additionally, the VVO passenger ferry enables an easy crossing from the opposite bank of the Elbe directly to the town center, so you can return to the ship flexibly and safely at any time.
On Foot
From the Marktplatz or the station, you can reach the ship's piers in a few minutes' walk via the flat riverside promenade. The paths are clearly signposted and offer easy orientation directly back to your berth thanks to the direct line of sight to the riverbank.
Taxi and S-Bahn
Taxis are available for you at the central Reißigerplatz as well as at Königstein station and will transport you punctually to the terminal on the Elbe. If you have explored the surrounding area by S-Bahn, the exit at Königstein station is ideal and leads you on a short, safe path directly back to the pier.
